Mae Hong Son, Thailand's second northern most province, is sheltered by several high mountains and enjoys a cool climate almost all year round. Mae Hong Son is approximately 924 kilometres from Bangkok and can be reached from Chiang Mai. Mae Hong Son is bordered by the Union of Myanmar (Burma) to the north and the west, and a strong Burmese influence can be seen in the province's temples and buildings. The population of Mae Hong Son include Thai Yai and various hilltribes such as Karen, Hmong, Lahu, Lua and Lisu, scattering in the districts.

The Mexican Sunflowers or Buatong Sunflowers on the Doi Mae U-Kor of Mae Hong Son Province are actually totally bloom between November to mid December yearly. This year, Khun Yuam district together with related organisations have prepared facilities for tourists including car parking, food shops, souvenir shops and the area of camping or accommodations. Own tent preparation is also permitted without any service charge. There are also both government and private accommodations available around the Mae Surin Waterfall and the nearby area and in the downtown ot Khun Yuam District, such as Mae U-Kor Guest House(Tel: 0 5369 1044), Khun Yuam Resort (Tel: 08 1882 7130), Bua Tong Vistion House(Tel: 0 5362 2037), Baan Farang Guest House(Tel: 0 5362 2086), Baan Pak Pha Moo (Tel: 0 5369 1035), Mitr Khun Yuam Hotel (Tel: 08 1882 7130)

Beside, there're the accommodations available in the Mae Sariang District around 400 rooms and in Mae Hong Son City about 1,300 rooms, which are served by the standard restaurants, bathrooms and security systems.

To visit Doi Mae U- Kor is very easy with a private car or public cars that available in Khun Yuam City. The fare charges from 800-1,000 baht per round.

Whitewater Rafting on the Pai River

Pai River orginates from the Thanon Tongchai and Dan Lao Moutain Range eventually joining the Salawin River. Pai River has total distance about 50 kilometers which providing grade 1-4 rapids. Besides this also offers beautiful scenery of lush forests as well as soaking waterfall, cave, immerse in mud well and cliff jumping.
