The Thai Yai appetizer ,it have the special characteristics
which is difference from the Lanna food. The local Thai Yai usually
eat rice, where the local Lanna usually eat glutnious rice.The local
Thai Yai don't usually prepare their food with meat.This is why we
don't normally see minced sour pork , pork sausage or spicy minced
meat like the northern food. The Thai Yai food normally prepare with
vegetable.The main ingredients of Thai Yai food is "Tour Nouw"
or steamed soya beans marinade for 2 - 3 days , after that , pounded
it in to a round-flat sheet and sun-dried them.
It looks like a sasemi chip , an ingredient which adds a flavour for
every main dish. |
Kaow Som : A cook rice mingled with turmeric
moulded or tomato into a small ball eaten with fried chlilis and green
peas.
Kaow Lhueng : A cook rice mingled with turmeric
moulded into a small ball and sprinkled it with fried onion,commonly
eaten with pork balls.
Kaow Kan Jeen : A cook rice mingled with a blood
of fowls and steamed it with fried onion, eaten with fried chlilis.
Khang Pong : made of raw sliced papaya,red onion
and flower cluster of the banana tree mixed with shrimp paste , sliced
lemonglass,chili powder , salted and dipped fried.
A La War : a la war is commonly seen in the market
made of white flour , coconut milk and sugarane sugar , stirred it
all together until it became sticky.
Souy Tamin : A Thai Yai dessert , made of sticky
rice , coconut milk and sugarcane sugar.
Tua Pae Yee &Tua Pae Lau : It's look like
the normal bean .Tua Pae Yee is a dipped fried soybean and Tau Pae
Lau is a fried soybean with salt .
Kaow Soi Tad : A square piece of fried yellow noodles
mingled with sugar,sugarcane sugar until it became sticky.
